POLL: Will TRUMP save TikTok?

As the deadline for TikTok's ban creeps closer, the social media giant is beginning to sweat—but could an unlikely hero step in to rescue them?

In April, Congress passed a controversial bill that gives TikTok until January 19th, 2025 to divest itself from its Chinese parent company, ByteDance. If they refuse, the platform will be banned from all app stores nationwide. The bill argues that TikTok poses a severe national security threat over evidence that the platform is passing along its invasive access to consumer data to the Chinese Communist Party.

Unsurprisingly, many people had questions over the bill's intent and potential unintended consequences, including Glenn. While Glenn certainly is no fan of TikTok, he is a sharp critic of the bill, arguing that it willbolster the government's power to censor the internet. As bad as TikTok may be, an out-of-control government is far worse.

TikTok has fought back against the bill, but the challenge against the ban was defeated by a ruling from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit earlier this month. With the January deadline looming just around the corner, TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew met with President-Elect Donald Trump to devise a rescue plan.

On Monday TikTok submitted an appeal to the Supreme Court to push back the deadline to create "breathing room," giving Trump a chance to respond to the ban.

But what do you think? Will the Supreme Court push back the deadline? Will Trump be able to help TikTok? Or should he even bother? Let us know in the poll below:

Do you support banning TikTok?

Do you think TikTok poses a national security threat?

Do you think banning TikTok creates a bigger issue: expanding the government's power to censor the internet?

Should Trump allow TikTok to be banned?

Will the Supreme Court push back the deadline?
