Update: A La Mesa Police Officer and one other person have been killed after a deadly car crash.
The San Diego Fire Rescue Department says the crash happened late last night near Waring Road. A SIG alert has been issued for the area, and traffic was being diverted off at Mission Gorge Road and Fairmount Avenue.
According to the CHP, a driver lost control of their car, and overturned. That car was struck by another. A La Mesa Police officer arrived on scene, got out of her patrol car, and was struck by another vehicle.
The officer has been identified as 25 year old Lauren Craven, who joined the department last year.
A number of injuries have been reported, and Eastbound traffic is being diverted to the Southbound 15.
