Man Who Shot Officer Sentenced

The man who shot and wounded a San Diego Police Officer has been sentence to 38 years to life in prison.

32 year old J.C. Sartor was convicted of shooting officer James Romero in June of 2023. Prosecutors say Sartor ran away from a stolen pickup truck in City Heights and shot the officer, before the officer could draw his gun.

Sartor, already a convicted felon before the shooting, was found with an unregistered ghost gun.
