San Diego property managers are scrambling to find private trash haulers as the city officially ends its free trash collection for multi-unit properties.
Gina Biglione manages a number of properties in San Diego and tells reporting partner 10 News she has been unable to secure a hauler, despite reaching out to several companies.
"At least three months we've been on the phone, e-mailing , leaving messages, filling out contact forms, trying to get one of these companies to respond" she says, with no luck.
Jeremy Bauer, Assistant Director Of The Environmental Services Department says they're working with haulers to expand capacity, and more service options are expected to become available in the coming weeks.
21-thousand property owners will lose their city offered trash pick up on Friday, August 1st.
