When it comes to flood recovery, a new audit finds San Diego's efforts are falling short.
A new 79 page report just released did praise the initial emergency response to floods that hit parts of San Diego in January 2024. That's when some areas received as much as two and a half inches of rain in an hour.
However, the report also criticized the city's long term recovery strategy. That report will be presented at a committee hearing Friday morning.
At least two dozen recommendations for improvements will be unveiled, including developing a more comprehensive long term recovery plan and how to better communicate with people who don't speak English as their first language.
CBS 8 reports the City has already agreed to implement the audit's recommendations.
