Another local public official has announced his with drawl from the San Diego Pride Festival because of headline performer Kehlani, who has been a vocal supporter of Palestinians and a critic of Israel.
San Diego County Assessor -County Clerk-Recorder Jordan Marks says he's withdrawn his office from the County's delegation participation in San Diego's Pride's weekend activities. This, he says, is due to safety concerns for members of the Jewish community.
In a statement, Marks said that "As a Jewish leader and community member who lost his uncle to a Palestinian bus bombing in Jerusalem, I cannot support or feel safe attending."
The County Assessor joins other local officials, including Mayor Todd Gloria, along with San Diego Jewish Organizations, in not taking part in Pride events this year.
