San Diego Sailor Killed In Accident Honored

A community in Escondido came together Monday to honor the life of Noah Tobin, a 23 year old San Diego County sailor who lost his life in a parachuting accident.

The procession for Tobin, a Valley Center native, began in Porterville, where the accident happened, and ended in Escondido.

It included military personnel, law enforcement, firefighters, friends and family.

The Special Warfare Boat Operator was based on the East Coast, but was taking part in a parachute training mission at Porterville Airport last week, when witnesses say his chute didn't open, killing him.

The sailor had just returned from deployment. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
