A California home was destroyed in a fire down to its "bare bones," but that didn't stop it from selling for well over its original $850,000 asking price, reports Fox News.
The four-bedroom, two bathrooms, 2,395-square-foot house is located in Walnut Creek, about 1.5 hours from San Francisco.
"Bring your contractor, architect, and designer: this is more than a fixer and the potential is limited only by imagination," reads the listing for the home.
The seller's agent Melinda Byrne of told Fox News that she had no doubt the house would sell because it sits in a "gorgeous neighborhood."
"The high school is one of the best in the area. It’s also very close to Mount Diablo State Park, so it's surrounded by beautiful hiking trails, horses, walking trails galore and you’re really close to shopping," said Byrne. "So, where this home is located is in a prime area."
According to Bryne, the fire took place in mid-September 2020 and may have started in the garage. No one was injured in the fire.
The damaged home was only on the market for three days and racked up eight offers.
The sale of the home has received a lot of media attention. Byrne told Fox going viral has been the "craziest thing" that's ever happened in her over 30-year real estate career.
